1986 - "I'd done that painting on my own (as Mille says in interviews), it was't commissioned by Kreator. They saw it and wanted to use it for their album cover. It's since become their biggest selling T-Shirt for over 25 years, and it's my personal favorite too. In all this time they refuse me one cent in royalties though... even when I own the copyright. In fact, that's true of every painting of mine they sell.
The meaning of the picture was sort of lost in the name of the album, which wasn't what I was trying to present. The demon represents the concsiousness, in it's perpetul battle against illusions, misperceptions, and lies. It's an endless battle, yet continuously won, as you see by the pile of bones, but the relentless approach of new skeletons. Since they're already dead though, they aren't being 'Killed' ... but smashed like the illusions they are.
I was actually disappointed by the title 'Pleasure to Kill'... which isn't really english. Maybe 'A Pleasure'. or 'Time to Kill' or something... otherwise, it makes no sense."
